Ping and latency test

What is your internet ping?

Measure response time, stability (jitter), and latency under load in real time, with results explained in plain language.

Measures 20 idle responses and latency while the connection is under load.

Latency guide

How to read your ping result

Lower ping in milliseconds (ms) means a faster, more immediate connection response:

Up to 30 msExcellent

No noticeable delay for games and voice calls.

30 to 60 msGood

Works well for online matches and HD video calls.

60 to 100 msFair

Fine for browsing, but fast-response games may feel delayed.

Over 100 msHigh

Delay is noticeable in games and calls.

What to do when ping is high?

  • Move closer to the Wi-Fi router or use Ethernet to reduce radio interference.
  • Pause heavy downloads and torrents while gaming or on important calls.
  • Check whether a VPN is active, because encrypted tunnels add distance to packet routes.
  • Restart the router to clear temporary packet and NAT-table state.

Common questions about ping

What ping is good for online games?

Up to 30 ms is excellent for competitive games. Between 30 and 60 ms is still very good; above 100 ms delay becomes noticeable.

Are ping and download speed the same?

No. Mbps measures transferred volume per second; ping measures the time for a message to travel to a server and back.

What is jitter in a ping test?

Jitter is how much ping varies over time. High jitter is a common cause of choppy voice, video, and games.

What is bufferbloat?

It is the sharp latency increase that can happen when a busy router queue fills with large downloads or uploads.
